Manager - The Flower Shop at Cedar Memorial ParkNancy brings more than 20 years of retail and floral design experience to The Flower Shop at Cedar Memorial. A proud member of The Flower Shop team, Nancy’s first priority is creating a memorable experience for the families she serves, whether designing tributes for a funeral or extravagant floral displays for a wedding.
Nancy attended the University of Wisconsin as a Fine Arts major. She received both Iowa Certified and Iowa Master Florist accreditations. Before joining The Flower Shop, Nancy owned her own business that featured gifts, furniture, children’s clothing and floral designs.
Floral styles are always changing; to keep up with new trends, Nancy attends industry classes and studies trade publications. As a team, the designers at The Flower Shop also attend industry functions, such as the Corridor Wedding Professionals events to promote their ‘blossoming’ wedding business.
Nancy lives in Springville with her husband, Steve, who is a retired correctional officer. They both love fly fishing, golf and football. During football season, they are a house divided. Steve is a Chicago Bear fan and Nancy, being a Green Bay native, is a diehard Packer fan… it makes for interesting Sundays!
Cameron’s soothing and compassionate presence brings great comfort to the families he serves at The Flower Shop at Cedar Memorial. He uses his exceptional listening, communication and organizational skills to help create a special experience for each family he meets.
Floral Designer - Wedding Team
Angie has 23 years of floral experience and believes customer satisfaction is the most important aspect of her job. She is a wedding consultant, sympathy consultant, co-chairs The Flower Shop Holiday event and supervises the ordering and maintenance of live plants. Angie graduated from the floriculture program at Kirkwood Community College in 1990, and attends industry classes and presentations to stay current on the latest trends.
Angie is from Oelwein, Iowa. Her husband, Tom, is a Funeral Director at Cedar Memorial. They have two children, Mitch and Kaitlynn, and a miniature schnauzer named Micki. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to kids' activities, golfing and relaxing at their cabin on the Wapsi. Tom and Angie are members of Blessed John XXIII Catholic Church.
Floral Designer - Certified Celebrant
Paula carefully listens to customers’ ideas and then uses her artistic background to bring their vision to life. Her 22 years of experience with custom design and operating a stained glass business has given her the background skills needed in the floral industry. As a wedding coordinator with more than 30 years of experience, Paula has also helped numerous brides achieve their dreams.
Emily comes from a long line of artists and continually strives to capture and bring your ideas to life in her work. With her creativity and compassionate spirit, she is able to offer kind and caring service to all.
She graduated from the Kirkwood Floral Design Program and has an extensive background in Graphic Arts and Business. She is working towards obtaining her Iowa Master Florist Certificate and expanding her knowledge of flowers for all of life’s occasions.
In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with family and being active by practicing yoga or running. She is also an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Marion, where she volunteers working with youth and welcoming new members.
Floral Designer - Wedding Team
Faith has worked in the floral industry for three years. Since being hired in the spring of 2014, Faith has taken on the responsibility of secretary for the Iowa Floral Association, become part of the Flower Shop’s wedding team, and won second place in the 2014 IFA design contest.
Faith loves to work at the Flower Shop assisting families with flowers for all of life’s occasions as well as with brides to plan the flowers for their personalized once-in-a-lifetime special day. Faith has done a number of weddings and finds it rewarding to keep on top of the latest trends and designs.
When not at work, Faith spends the majority of time with her children Blake and Paige. She enjoys crafting, Iowa Football, interior decorating and spending time with family and friends.
Mary joined The Flower Shop with over 20 years of experience in the floral industry, and also has a background in Fine Arts and Design.
She received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Iowa, where she studied Art and Business Administration. She also completed the Floriculture program at Kirkwood Community College and keeps up with the changing styles and trends in the floral industry by studying trade publications.
Mary has lived in Cedar Rapids since 1997 and has two daughters, Amanda and Emily. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling and listening to music.
Flower Shop Delivery Specialist/Courier
Amanda joined The Flower Shop in 2015 and brought with her 15 years of customer service experience. She often is found delivering floral arrangements, answering phones and assisting customers.
Amanda is excited to learn and grow with The Flower Shop and support the important work that they do. She is also a member of the Memorial Day committee at Cedar Memorial.
Amanda lives in Cedar Rapids with her husband Jeff. They love spending time outdoors and traveling. Amanda loves to read and help her family with gardening.
Joanna began her career in the floral industry almost 5 years ago and she has loved every minute. She received her Iowa Master Florist accreditation in 2014 and serves on the Iowa Florist Association Board.
Joanna is passionate about serving customers and making each floral arrangement creative and unique. She enjoys entering floral competitions, music, decorating, scrapbooking, photography and spending time with her friends and family.
Madonna joined the staff at The Flower Shop following her graduation from Kirkwood Community College in 2016. While attending the Kirkwood Floral Program she was named Student of the Year and Designer of the Year. Madonna’s mother is also a floral designer and she is proud to continue in her footsteps.
In her free time, she enjoys time with her grandkids, Ben and Stella. Madonna also has a passion for volleyball and has been the Assistant Coach at Dike- New Hartford, where the team has won four state titles. She also is the proud owner of two vintage campers and enjoys camping as much as possible.
Jayna began working in the floral industry part time while she attended the University of Iowa for Music. She later realized a career in the floral industry best suited her, so she decided to finish her music degree at Iowa
Upon graduation in 2015, she started the Floral Careers program at Kirkwood Community College and graduated the summer of 2016. Jayna loves meeting new people, learning about new plants and flowers. Outside of work, Jayna enjoy visiting family, traveling and playing the tuba
